Aaron Eckhart moved to England from California when he was 13 when his father decided to relocate the family. Eckhart quit high school, but still, obtained a diploma through an adult education course, and next graduated from the Brigham Young University with a BA degree in film. As for his first critical acclaim, he received it for the role as Nick Naylor in 2006’s Thank You for Smoking, for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor. His other mainstream performance happened two years later, when he portrayed District Attorney Harvey Dent in the blockbuster Batman film The Dark Knight. Eckhart has played other major roles in movies like The Pledge (2001), The Core (2003), Rabbit Hole (2010) and Sully (2016).
