In 2001 Dennis landed a career-changing role as Senator, then later President, David Palmer alongside Kiefer Sutherland on the series “24”. Haysbert was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance, and has said he believes the character played a role in helping Barack Obama secure the Democratic nomination later in the decade. He’s also well known in U.S. households as the spokesman for Allstate Insurance, frequently appearing on TV screens asking Americans whether they’re “in good hands”. Other TV and film credits include “Major League II”, “Love & Basketball”, “Jarhead”, “Kung Fu Panda 2”, “Wreck-It Ralph”, “Growing Pains”, “Now and Again”, “The Unit”, and “Return to Lonesome Dove”.
