Kym Whitley was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and graduated from Fisk University in Tennessee. She began her professional acting career in the early 90s on television, with guest starring roles on a number of comedies including, “The Parent Hood”, “Martin”, and “Married… with Children”. She also had a recurring role on the coming of age series, “My Brother and Me” on Nickelodeon.
